Tire & Rim cleanup :

After 8 years or so of storage, my American Racing Rims, and Toyo tires were in need of some TLC. I was missing a center cap, and there was also layers of brake dust that had accumulated on the wheels over the past several years.  I was very fortunate that the tires were still in excellent shape (see last post) except for a few nails and scuffs.

I had been seeing an advertisment for a new product from Mother’s Power Ball, and was curious how well it worked. I purchased a Powerball Mini from AutoZone, and went home to find out.

Afer removing the tires from the super, I gave them a good wash with plain old soap and water. Then I fully dried them. I applied Mothers Alluminum Wheel cleaner/polish to the rims using a terry cloth towel.

I began to polish them using the powerball mini. This is the best product if you have intricate designs on your wheels, it gets into every nook & cranny. Once I gave them a through once over with the Power Ball mini, I used the Terry cloth towel to wipe down the Rims and tires to remove any excess.

My opinion of the Mother’s Powerball ? Get one, it saves you allot of time and effort with the whole polishing aspect. It provides a great shine to your wheels.
